NoteHere Explorer Frequently Asked Questions
Your questions will always be answered.
Questions: support@xtytech.com
| Is NoteHere Explorer secure?
Yes. NoteHere Explorer uses the Rijndael 256-bit symmetric encryption, the strongest encryption known so far, to encrypt
data. Your information is encrypted in your computer using a key you choose and then saved as it is in the server. The
encrypted data cannot be decrypted by anybody without knowing your key.
This is completely different from other programs or services using SSL connections (secure socket layer). SSL connections guranttee
the security during transmission, but your files are decrypted and saved in the plain text format on the server, so anyone who has
access to the server can easily open your files.

| I cannot find my files in my computer. Where are my files?
Your files are saved on the NoteHeren server on the Internet. That's why you need an account on the server, and that's
why even if you shutdown your computer you will still be able to access your files no matter where you go.
However, whenever you need to save a copy of the file in your computer, you can do so, see
Save a Local Copy.
| How do I save a copy of the files in my computer?
First, you double click a desired file in NoteHere Explorer to open it up.
Then you choose Save a Local Copy under the File menu. On the Save As screen, you navigate to
a folder in your computer and click Save. This will create a copy of the file in your coputer.
WARNING: The local copy of the file you save in this way
are not encrypted or protected.
| Can files created in NoteHere Explorer be opened by other programs?
Yes. NoteHere Explorer uses the standard RTF format (Rich Text Format) to save files. So files saved
in your computer using Save a Local Copy can be opened by any other
programs such as MS Word (™) that support this format.
| Can I transfer other files in my computer to NoteHere?
Yes. You can attach any files as you do with your email progams.
To do this, you open an exisiting file or create a new one, then click the Attch Files button on
the tool bar. Navigate to find the desired file and click Open to attach it.
Since large files take longer time to save or open, it is recommended to attach only small files that are really
needed.
| How do I extract files attached in a file?
First, you open up the file that has the attachements, then just highlight the attachment files and drag it
to a folder in your computer.
Alternatively, you can use the standard Copy/Paste to extract the files. First, you open
up the file with the attachments, hightlight the attachment files, right click them and
select Copy. Go to the desired folder in your Windows Explorer, then right click and select Paste.
CAUTION: Unless you know what the attachments are, you should never double click
them to open or extract them. Malicious attachments can damage your computer. This is the same rule as how you
should deal with attachments in your email.
